I really value being able to assign any CC to any knob when using virtual instruments, and would love to see this implemented in Obsidian, but doesn't the modular nature of obsidian (with different params for different modules) make universal Obsidian mapping next to impossible?

Thanks! Lotta fun stuff in here !

Damn, blip, just give this guy a code already! 🙃

I use copies of the same kit on different tracks as well, and mute all the pads that I don’t want processed on that track. But I also have a parent track that also has a copy of the kit with ALL pads muted. That track has a midi send going to each of the child slate tracks. That way I can play the whole kit, sequence it on…

+1 Channel focus would be really cool too.

No, nothing so complicated. Right now, when you tap a pad on the screen, you are presented with the parameters for that pad in the left and can edit them. But if, on an external controller, I tap the midi note that corresponds to a given pad the parameters don’t change — they stay on the last pad you touched on the screen.…

All great tips! My thinking with the slide out record button is that even though I can route everything with relative ease, it’s really difficult to keep things in sync (or in the case of kb1 start playing on the 1) when I have to push record and then frantically jump to the midi app to push play or start playing live…

Excellent work! Any chance of a quick fix to put the record button on the Audiobus slide-out? That’d make it really easy to record midi output from AUfx whose output can’t be recorded externally. (I’m thinking primarily of step sequencers like Octachron and key interfaces like KB1)

Yes. You can set each track to receive on a separate midi channel in the in/out tab. Just make sure you choose the “Track receives midi when ALWAYS” option on the same tab to do what you’re looking for. Channel and track receives settings will also affect how note data (and everything else) is routed from your controller,…

BUG? I’ve seen it referenced elsewhere but never saw any confirmation as to whether it’s a bug or an incomplete feature: When I assign mixer send faders to CC, those assignments are always lost upon reloading the project (after saving with the assignments, of course). This is a bummer since my main template and workflow…

Excellent. Thanks for the explanation!

I’v been absolutely blown away by the quantity and quality of sounds in all the current IAPs. Super versatile and very few duds.

Seconded. It's absolutely outstanding. I will say it languished on my iPad for a while after using it for a bit upon release, but that was because I was overwhelmed by everything I was seeing. Now paired with a midi controller and external sequencer it's totally clicked and I don't have an interest in using anything else.

@dendy Good to know!

Right on. Just noticed that myself. Might as well just start saving my favorite factory presets as user presets and avoid the whole tagging thing altogether. Works just as well for my needs as long as they're all in one spot.

Found the answer immediately after posting (typical.... ). Gotta use "Save as," right?
