This is a great tip, thanks @dendy

* Aim the LFO at coarse tuning (starting with 'Init' LFO 1 is this by default) * Set the range to 12 instead of 1 (in the mod matrix). This is a place to start - you can mix it up later. * Change the LFO to a square wave to begin - square waves are nice and simple for sussing out/listening to modulation ranges. * Hold a…

Apple storage is all about $$$ Like toothpaste out of a tube. One of those mini travel toothpastes. Speaking from my 256gb ivory tower, I'll say that being able to audition samples is important. I don't know if it's possible to audition samples that live in the spirt realm. Yet. (You gotta dream!)

Closest for me is Kleverb standing in for AltiSpace. It's not a convolution reverb (Herr Blip's on the case there) but it's a fine thing.
-
I expect Mr Blip will take an interest wherever people run into friction. If you’re finding imports clunky etc. I didn’t run into any issues, although I was quite satisfied with sending files and folders to the inbox then filing them away, so it wasn’t much of a stress test. Now I’ve all but moved out of AudioShare (to…

Not sure I understand this. Double-tapping a sample file to open the editor works well for me, but it sounds like you want to open an empty editor maybe? or is it a library shortcut you're after? I'm loving the file system btw.

That does sound pretty great, and I’m all for having a proper in-house slicer. Nice vision :) For now, I’m just suggesting a couple of minor changes to the editor, as I think they’d add a lot of value for a relatively low development cost. An ignorant guess, of course!

Great tips @Will :)

Exactly this. Hardware synths to Obsidian in no time. Also: quickly chopping notes and sounds and riffs and whatever else out of long recordings, which it might not be practical to duplicate.
-
Do you mean the ‘X’ in the top corner? Currently this only goes to the save dialog after an edit, not a selection
-
Yes, it’s a good tip @Stiksi I’m glad we have that for sure :) And really useful that we have that in Slate @LeeB - it does cover a lot of use cases. I’m totally with you @dendy - manual slicing could be a really quick workflow. Here’s how I see it: * Select a region * Tap play to hear what you’ve selected, adjust if…

Good thinking. Matt already mentioned space bar transport control on another thread. https://www.blipinteractive.co.uk/community/index.php?p=/discussion/comment/1923/#Comment_1923 It’d be great to get a full set of key commands to hop around the place super quick. I realised the other day that it’d be a useful thing to…

Tricky one this. I figured it’s there to save on slots, as macro mapping can take up a fair bit of that matrix. Macros seem to be more powerful in the mod source column, as you can set scaling/polarity. You could multiply a macro by itself (e.g. ‘knob 1’ as both mod source and multiplier) and if I know maths, that’d give…

I sometimes think of it as a really fun utility :)

I’m inclined to choose ReSlice here as it’s so quick and easy to do and you get a kit to use in all of the other hosts (full disclosure: I rarely spend much time in BM3 but if that’s your jam, I get it). I think it’s worth importing to Slate pads still. One of several advantages would be velocity sensitivity (ReSlice…

Boom. This. Confidence has nothing to do with being awesome, and being awesome has nothing to do with confidence. I think that one’s a bug in common sense. Possibly beyond the scope of Matt’s coding prowess, but you never know! Thanks again @StevePAL

iVCS3 is in the process of being updated to ‘full synth’ AU (hopefully not long now - it is happening). It’s always been a strange one.
-
Hardly a bug, but a discrepancy: 'Reverb Size' is called 'Reverb Time' in the mod matrix. I'm not sure I want this changed, even, but I will place this pea under your mattress Mr Blip.

Mixdowns for what can be done in NS2 of course.
-
AUM is great for this. For my purposes at least. It might be too limiting for users who want to make detailed edits before bringing audio back in but I’d go to the desktop for that stuff anyway (guitar lines etc.). For simple quantised clips and stems I’ll be using AUM.
-
Yes, I'm looking forward to audio tracks too. Until then it's refreshingly straightforward to mixdown loops via the project menu and load them into either Slate or Obsidian's sample oscillator for playback. Or to import anything tempo synced, for that matter. This works great for recording external MIDI instruments then…
-
Auria’s a one-man show (I don’t mean to nitpick - Rim deserves props). Otherwise, carry on :)
-
Love it. Plenty of options of course but the audio workaround seems to work nicely with AUM as an external MIDI instrument host/recorder (‘quantize record’ for Link-synced perfect loops then ‘export’ back to NS2 from AudioShare* - it’s pretty quick to do). Very happy that we can free up some CPU if needed before audio and…

Nice! I’ve been looking forward to this one. Thank you
-
Thanks Matt, I believe we will. No rush on any of this of course - I expect we’ll be here for a good long while. Slow and steady wins the race etc. I very much hope that everybody can enjoy a nice festive break and start 2019 without stress and panic. Thanks again for making such a lovely thing.
-
Thank you @StevePAL these are really well done and very helpful, much appreciated.
-
In Obsidian, with it’s mod matrix yes! It’s pant-wettingly amazing :) But that AU wrapper... I couldn’t find a way to set up any fancy macro biz.
