Everything works perfectly well with Route as far as I can tell. Here's a video demonstrating that: https://youtu.be/kUEcLRbbG14 I 100% agree with regards to moving this conversation over to the AB forums :)

Instrument mode of MIDI Route doesn't need to deal with the "REC TO TRACK" shenanigans.
-
huzzah!

Works fine in Cubasis from what I've tried. Simplest possible setup: Using Route to route midi from one track to another: * Create a midi track A with some notes in the timeline * Select "None" for track A's midi input in the sidebar * Add MIDI Route as either an instrument or effect for track A and select "Cubasis" as…

If you haven't seen it, here's a quick video showing how MIDI Route (instrument version) works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQqT2NusQyE Check the second half of the video for routing from one track to another, into the same app. This setup should translate identically to other DAWs too, such as Cubasis. To be clear,…

Good news, I've confirmed with @"Blip Interactive" that everything will work fine in a future release of NS2. I've also already released a new version of MIDI Tools on the App Store that anticipates for that future version of NS2, so everything goes smoothly. Thanks everyone for your patience.

Thanks for testing things out @dendy. For the "Route" units (both instrument and effect), your hypothesis is interesting, and I'll do some more digging on my end. For the other units, they expect MIDI data to come in from the host via AURenderEvent realtime event list head, and also advertise their output to the host via…

A slightly more accurate wording would be to say NS2 is not compatible with these kinds of MIDI audio units. They work fine in every other popular host, such as AUM, apeMatrix, Cubasis and BM3, even Audiobus. The problem here is very likely the same one that affects other plugins such as StepPolyArp, discussed here. Rest…

Realtime stretch works in both the sampler and the audio tracks in BM3. Link works fine for me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTgZQ-Q5k6o

It’s apple’s keyboard.

Thanks yo!

I’m not going to justify what I’m doing just to please some old timers. My feedback is coming from a place of love, no reason to prove that to anyone. I’m also not going to prefix every bug or surpising behavior I find with saying how great NS2 is. We all know NS2 is a phenomenal piece of software. Bug reports can be…
-
Do y’all really think this is a reasonable reaction to a real bug report? Could really put off people actually trying to help.
-
I suspect it’s simply because NS2 doesn’t use the system provided keyboard. Regardless of the reason, I just reported it :) “or maybe”? I could go on forever on how amazing NS2 is. But I’m not going to circlejerk around though, if I’m finding a bug in the process, I report it here. If that’s unwelcome, I’ll direct my spare…
-
Yes.
-
I’m struggling to understand your reaction. This is a genuine bug, indicative of a possible larger issue which is ignoring OS-wide accessibility features.
-
Here’s a bug: ipad external keyboards (including apple’s smart keyboard folio) don’t work in NS2. Much sad. EDIT: I’m not talking keyboard shortcuts, basic functionality (like editing project names) ignores external input.
-
What are you referring to here more exactly? Genuinely curious.
-
@anickt All AU instruments scale properly because they don’t have to scale at all. NS2 gives them the default size of 1024x335 points. So no surprises there. AUfx scale improperly because they’re offered the square format. If NS2 gave them the default size of 1024x335 points they’d scale well there too.

Hey hey, europeans are normal people! :)

There's only one correct way of writing dates. That's YYYY-MM-DD
-
That's not true. Double tapping on the "select" tool selects everything. Again not true, you can drag all of them at once in BM3 as well. This isn't to belittle either NS2 or BM3. But in a post about "jumping ship from BM3", I feel obligated to point out inaccuracies in feature sets :)

Sorry for wanting nice things! :)

If I’m reading this correctly, you’re saying that I might be able to better isolate drum kicks using loads of processing on the sidechain itself. I think this misses the point: it’s not just about drum kick sidechain compression, it’s about sending audio from single pads, for endless kinds of possible scenarios. What’s the…
-
I literally said in the original post that I can’t always isolate drum kicks using the filter knob :) Please read my post again.
-
Just to clarify, is this a general "make NS2 responsive on various screen sizes", or is it just iPhone + iPad 11"? I'm personally hoping for better space management on the 12.9".
-
This is extremely unlikely to be true. From what I can tell, other DAWs just use a single size for all plugins, there's no special casing for individual plugins. It's 1024x335 points. Which is the size in Garageband, so no surprise there.
-
Surely we shouldn't lower our standards just because we're on iOS :) We all want this platform to succeed for music production, and we don't do it by having low standards.
-
Eh, I wouldn't categorise this as a BM3 "thing". Most powerful samplers allow for per pad effects, without restrictions on where those effects come from. Slate is supposed to be a powerful sampler too, or at least that's how it's marketed. So the feature expectations are valid regardless of where they come from.
