ooh yeh!

Conversely, I'd love to see an option to hide the keyboard when editing Obsidian, instead expanding the view, or perhaps a Mod or FX panel at the bottom in its place. I've never used the onscreen keyboard. I wish the option to hide keyboard was the norm.

lol, yeah. I wouldn't worry about adhering to any strict definition of DAW, though. Gadget and Audiobus sit near the top, and they don't have audio tracks.

incredible work, Matt! I'll spread the word to all my iphone-only music buddies. Now if only Apple would fix the search optimization in their store. I tried "Nanostudio" and the pale competition comes up - unless you include the "2". That's insane. Doesn't come up when you search "DAW" either! :( I don't know how these…

oh wow! thanks for the tip! NS2 never ceases to impress!
-
oh man! no kidding. that would be the dream.

hehe, speak for yourself :) I've brought it up elsewhere, but I really think that all cc's should be mappable to external midi. I agree that 10 automatable parameters is likely enough. But I personally want to map all useful parameters to external hardware. I like to map plugins to control via midi so that I'm fiddling…

haha.. oh you guys... I agree with everything you said, but I can't help but wonder.. what's a complex Neuro?
-
oh wow, thanks for this info! I think I need to read up more on the 32 bit floating thing, as I don't really understand what that means exactly. Very useful tip there, @dendy!
-
yeah, that's exactly what I had imagined. Still able to tap left and right for single increments, but drag up and down to sweep through values. anyhow, not a big deal. Good idea @coniferprod for making a few different presets to switch between. being able to import and automap to NS2 so seamlessly is a dream. Took me a few…

I absolutely love SynthJacker! a little request for future updates: aside from making the sample length longer, could you please make the controls slideable (as in dragging up and down) rather than having to tap increments? I spent hours yesterday sampling some hardware and changing this manually for each patch was the…

I'd pay an iap for the ability to load user wavetables
-
yeah exactly.. I think there’s no need to over complicate this. no need for a cc for every single parameter in the entire universe. simple midi learn would do the trick. and could work just like assignments do - from the main panel, tap midi learn, twiddle a controller knob.. and bam. if you change the oscillator to…
-
thanks @dendy! Ha, yeah! let's hope this isn't so low on the list that it takes years to get there :#
-
.. oops - double post, sorry!
-
anyhow, please pass this along to the head honcho? I know there's a loong list of things, but man... this is just one of those essential things for those of us who are working with controllers. If people take note that NS2 could replace their reliance on a Nord or a macbook pro for a serious live performance instrument, it…
-
Exactly.. =) I do this with all my favorite synths and it brings both programming and performing to a new level. Funny thing is that so many hardware heads bash on software because they "like the tactile control of knobs and faders".. yeah, so map it to a midi controller and there you have it. Best of both worlds. I love…

I think it is entirely reasonable to limit the automation lanes to a manageable number (say, 10). But automation and mapping are two entirely different things. To hinder the expansion to midi gear for fear that people would expect these cc's to be automateable.. that's just sort of weird. Having parameters exposed but with…
-
Ha, good point!
-
Ok never mind... sorted it out. somehow inputs had switched themselves off in the midi settings! Strange...

-
I too would love to see this. Just imagine if you could swap out the keyboard for performance controls or the fx panel.
-
yeah, I hope there is eventually some way to get to the effects panels quicker. perhaps a sort of nested list under each instrument in the bar? I'm sure someone's got a better idea, not sure if it's been discussed. but I do find this is one of the biggest UI slowdowns in ns2 right now.. getting to fx quickly. I'd love it…

NICE!! thanks for the heads up.
-
I like this idea as well. I use external controllers too. Having an option to focus on the current midi channel as well for instances of obsidian or Auv3's so that if you switch channels on your controller, it jumps to that instrument's interface. And of course, the option to enable/disable this would be necessary.…

Wonderful update! Having the main outs means I can finally record NS2 with my AUM sessions. Apologies if it's been discussed already and I missed it.. but does anyone know if there are plans to have individual channel outs for Audiobus? Most other daws have this feature, as do many standalone apps with more than one…
-
thanks @dendy! very helpful
-
yes, either this or something like a "favorites" list that can be selected via PC would be the best options for performers using hardware controllers. The midi channel per instrument thing isn't really a great solution tbh. I'm using a midi controller to control a handful of other instruments, (all with proper program…

yeah, I hear you! That's why I was so excited by this TuneUp thing. The biggest hurdle to actually composing microtonal music is keeping different instruments in tune. So if one switch would tune several synths.. this would be powerful. The reason A440 based Equal Temperament was standardised (well into the 20th century -…
