Ok didn’t realise NS2 had external midi tracks which I just come across disregard my above question, great!
-
It may have been mentioned before but is there any plans to add midi out to Track Output ?
-
I’m finding Nano Studio 2 the most rock solid DAW for stability on iOS haven’t had any midi hangs or crashes yet unlike some of the others. It really is number one and since being released I’ve dabbled in other DAWs but keep coming back to Nano Studio 2 to actually produce in so thanks very much Matt for all your great…
-
On a side note the Audiobus beta with midi learn just dropped so should make things very interesting.
-
Put together a very quick track using Bit Shape TC Data app updated today with Audiobus Midi support and state saving to push through to Obsidian using AB virtual bridge using the drag crazy 4 pad X Y on TC Data to control the 7th Heaven preset in Obsidian. https://soundcloud.com/paul-collins-2/ns2-obsidian-being-controlled
-
TC Data now does Audiobus 3 midi in works great with Obsidian. Am getting a few stuck notes though using Audiobus 3 midi AU and virtual midi bridge to control and record midi data inside NS2.
-
@Will No can’t get it working either. It’s not a AU midi effect so doesn’t show up in that list so you can lay down midi data from it. It doesn’t have a internal sound engine from what I can see so you can’t use it as a instrument which is how it’s listed inside NS2. Also remember NS 2 can’t record midi data at present…

StageLight has a mini timeline in Loopbuilder mode. Yes it’s very handy addition. Would like to see it in NS2.
-
I remember buying the Garden ones many moons ago, they got lost in the digital realms of time !
-
We seen some great AU midi Sequencers, drum Sequencers, keyboards, object triggering AU. X Y pads, LFO,s, interested to see what other midi AU ideas come & appear at the iOS party.
-
Thanks Bram for the update.
-
Noob question update for Perforator out now, where is this on off switch ? Can find it under app settings or in standalone mode is it the mute bottom left ?
-
Yes noticed it doesn’t jump to the letter selected.
-
Thanks Matt for all your hard work and these wise words. Going to enjoy reading the forum threads and seeing everyone’s aspirations for the future of this wonderful iOS DAW.
-
Works a bit like SampleVerse inside StageLight then you can route that out to a AU instrument.
-
Was talking to Mark the dev about it yesterday he said it’s a major omission by all DAW developers for recording SpaceCraft as you can only record in a AUM and I believe ApeMatrix. He busy working on Android version at present.
-
I tried recording from SC yesterday it’s the same as in Cubasis by the way no joy on recording.
-
I’m missing my orange X/Y pads from Eden and my 5th planet waveshaper !
-
@ajmiller You cant do it in app at present for recording and Riffer doesn’t show up as a midiFX but you can use it for live use. Try using Riffer in standalone mode outside of NS2 and send midi to your tracks that way.
-
Submitted great stuff, love this DAW thank you @"Blip Interactive"
-
I total agree with @echoopera sentiments, I can see NS2 becoming my go to DAW once it gets proper midi FX routing recording.
-
Yes thanks Steve really good video series so far learning a lot from them.
-
Yes would love to see it appear on desktop can only dream as sure Matt got enough on his plate for the next 2 years adding to the iOS model.
-
I’m sure AU fx midi recording will come in a update, StageLight on iOS and desktop has the same problem since launch.
-
It works sending midi with KB-1 aswell try sending chord notes out to Obsidian 7th heaven present from KB-1 your be blown away! then record away.
-
You can do it if you have the latest AUDIOBUS 3 beta check out my thread. It’s a bit long winded process but you can do it. https://www.blipinteractive.co.uk/community/index.php?p=/discussion/39/au-midi-record-is-possible-if-you-have-audiobus-3-latest-beta#latest
-
That’s correct. Just tried using Rozeta XOX sending to Slate and Ruismaker FM at the same time works like a charm.
-
@Breezee Add a blank track select midi fx within that track and select add midi and then external and then use the send function to push out midi to the instrument track of your choice. You can use KB-1 for chording this way aswell.
