We waited so many years for this to come out. Just as excited about Nanostudio today as day one! Feels like my birthday.

+1 for more IAP packs! I read the Synthjacker manual and it looks like you need to set up sequences of various length notes depending upon how long you want samples to be. What have you found to be useful?
-
Oh! I thought it was a group of people on the dev team. My bad. Thanks though!
-
Thanks to the dev for pointing out these features. I had over looked them too. Seems a year later we are all still learning how great this app is.
-
Totally agree!

You wrote “so I’d be dumb to invest much time in it“
-
Nice to see more and more apps going AU. Future looks bright.
-
Looks terrific on my iPad Pro as is.
-
Nanosync is available on the website’s NS1 page. That is the program for your computer to transfer files onto & off of your iPhone/iPad. It’s pretty simple and quite useful.
-
Nice one dendy. Never thought of that.
-
Glad to hear that more and more apps are embracing the future with AUv3 compatibility.
-
Is there one file with all 63 parts or does this have to be downloaded as 63 separate files?
-
iOS 4.1 that’s a time capsule. You know about Nanosync, I’m guessing.

I’d like IAP packs that are sounds we can’t easily do it Obsidian, like the choirs already requested, more orchestral samples, world instruments, electric guitars, and all the cool Obsidian patches that I just don’t have time to create myself, like for Dubstep and EDM. Oh, and for Slate: Taiko kits would be awesome as well…
-
I recommend that you get both Acoustic packs. Actually, get all the IAP. Great sounds!

I think customer reviews, from the AppStore to Yelp, are hopelessly biased toward the negative.

I find NanoStudio 2 to be the most intuituve DAW that I have ever used, including on PC. Desktop programs might have tons of specialized features that I don’t need and the GUI for those just gets in the way. iOS DAWs are more awkward than not, which gets in the way of creating, so for me NanoStudio 2 gets 5 stars for…

No flac or alac but “most sample rates” should include 24 bit. Have you tried any file formats/rates that aren’t working?
-
What mrwilson said!

Somebody call me...?
-
Just had a listen. Nicely done!
-
More and more, recording to tape seems like less of a hassle.
-
The first measure does start at zero time, but after 4 bars you now have 1 measure. Measure 1. There is no measure 0. The start of the first measure does not mean there is a 0 measure that has already elapsed, unless you count the count in. Maybe there is a bit of an impulse to quickly call for ‘Feature Requests” when, in…

Yeah, also the videos are good for this. Saw this tip in particular in one short video.

I think Obsidian is a great addition to my synth app collection. Some great and unique sounds. I’m glad it doesn’t sound like a Moog, because when I want those sounds I can just use those apps. I’m enjoying getting to know the uniqueness of Obsidian. I think we might be a bit spoiled on the iOS platform these days. I’m so…

Thanks for the clarifications @number37 !! It all seems so simple, but I am sure it is not. My problems with IAA came when trying to sequence them. Sampling them into AudioShare like @Fruitbat1919 mentions was a less frustrating work around. I’d hate to see IAA make NS2 frustrating or clunky to use. I’m a bit more…
-
Agreed. We can use MIDI out. There was a day when that’s all your workstation synth could do. Mixing and recording audio where separate pieces of kit. Not cheap.
-
Yeah, that’s what I mean. Instead of AB running like IAA, do the same thing as AU. I’m grossly over-simplifying this, and in the end it may not be possible. But AB is essentially just routing audio from point A to B. The whole purpose of the app was to connect audio out to audio in. Can’t there be an AU app (AB or some…

I’m loving NS2! The workflow is superb! This is a fantastic environment for creating music. I already have lots of complex synth apps, but Obsidian is a very welcomed and very useful synth. There’s a depth there that will take some time to fully understand, but I find it easy enough to get creative and make some cool…

So far I have to say that NS2 exceeds my expectations and does everything I need it to. I can tell that I will spend a lot of time with this app as my go-to app at the center of my production. Thanks Blip Interactive! This is a great early Christmas gift.
