Ok, overlooked those RW buttons on the mixer. One thing I like about NS2 over Cubasis is the full screen mixer and of course the superior effects. Steinberg have some catching up to do... Please make a MacOS DAW that isn't hundreds and hundreds of dollars! Found the Track Lane Arming which is awesome for recording drums.…

Oops I added "Track no instrument" instead of External Midi. Works perfectly thanks!
-
@dendy so that’s how the automapping works? Awe Yeah!
-
Oh ok well back into the settings I shall go to hunt down the elusive crash report.
-
My analytics sharing is on so presumably if a crash was logged it was also reported. I have no way of knowing however.
-
I’ll have a look and send it off if I can

Just like the Electribe and MPC workflow using mutes to activate and deactivate pads is what I meant, IAA for recording output. Beathawk is another example. Anyway just a question about what the mute was for, maybe Slate will get some more features in the future.
-
May be difficult to reproduce. Upon deleting the effect and readding it it works. I had my first NS2 crash as well when moving insert effects around on the chain while the song played on an AU track. Understandable crash with no loss of song data but worth reporting here. Maybe preventing the movement of effects while the…

I’m wondering if the mute could be used for arrangement purposes too. For example if the mute also muted midi output the same clip could be copied into multiple slate tracks with different muted pads. It’s maybe more work than warranted , but there’s something about pad muting that I like when making beats.

Synthmaster Player by KVVR just went AU today!
-
FWIW Cubasis has a lot of catchup to do as well particularly in terms of file management and sampling/synthesis, track grouping and midi sends etc.
-
About the IAPs actually the sounds aren’t too genre specific and the sounds need to be tweaked a bit, boosted with compression at the minimum. All the packs are must haves and not very expensive either, for the value of what’s provided. 70 patches and around 10 kits all macro mapped.
-
Ok point taken. ;)

I’ve got some sound design tutorials planned and a second version of this song could be out next week
-
First piece is out. At least the first version of it. https://youtu.be/ER7z5DCSSrc

I had a project with only NS2 sounds start to get a little laggy at the 6 minute mark, some delay fx. Might be an iPad Pro issue, basically the screen was unresponsive for a few seconds, luckily the app didn’t crash and resumed normal operations after a few seconds.
-
I’m reading the manual religiously... but @dendy, you are my personal saviour. Thank you!!!
-
I like this app because it’s so well thought out and it performs well, there’s no anxiety about a pending crash or other weird and unexpected unexplainable behaviour, and it’s super fast to bounce around. It’s also very assuring that the dev @"Blip Interactive" is continuing to improve it mentioning there’s a lot more on…

Pure NS2 obviously B)
-
I forgot to mention the hide/filter unused notes option as part of the scale lock is super useful.
-
When this is turned on tapping into the pattern editor ought to be disabled. If you’re very careful and slow you can toggle numerous cells for the purposes of muting or deleting etc. Actually there’s quite a bit more potential in the select tool for copying cutting and pasting I would add.
-
Cool it’s there. I sort of thought it would have been there. One Hit Wonderland here I come!!!
-
I would add to this thread that it would be nice to see the actual time elapsed in the timeline. The number of measures is there which is very useful but of course if you’re ampiming for a 4-6 minute song you want to know visually where you’re big drops need to go etc.
-
Moving blocks does snap to grid which is fantastic. I mean to say if I touch the timeline to jump the play head that the play head jumps on beat. Perhaps there’s a quantisation setting somewhere that does that... but I doubt it.
-
@Tyrone just touch the timeline it will align to your grid setting and play on tap.
-
I can get by with exports from third party apps, aka Gadget. I get now that IAA is too expensive to maintain in 2019 on top of all the other feature sets. NS2 Midi out will also be very useful.

Velocity automation resides inside the box icon with the downward arrow (v?) in the top left corner of the piano roll. Volume automation resides in the three node icon beside the velocity icon. Automation can be recorded if you set it up in the mixer (W) or drawn in.

There’s a ‘Swap’ button under the hamburger menu too which is great for swapping out samples while keeping the settings. The velocity layers thing is something I’m still coming to terms with when adding more than one sample to a pad.
