  • I apologize for this wrong bug report. Usually I never jump to the forum and immediately post when I have an issue, it’s quite the opposite. Even when there’s no doubt that I’m dealing with a bug, I often wait for weeks before I post about it, and it’s generally because I’m so fed up with the problem that I decide to write…
  • My bad ! I don’t know which app this name refers to but I checked all my AU plugins and this none of them are named SquareSynth. The one I was talking about which works further down the list of AU instrument and works fine.
  • Yes. Since the last update from 2 days ago, I can’t launch it in NS2.
  • Yes, it’s a problem with every AU instrument plugins. Like @dendy says, every AU instruments should behave like Obsidian, which shows the right value number which corresponds to its related macro knob, and more important, when you move an automation point, its value number changes to match its course and its position.
  • Ok, so you experienced this anomaly too, this isn’t just me ? I will then report it to he Bug section.
  • I was about to post a new comment about this bug with Autony knobs, and I found this comment but without any reactions. So, I have this problem too. I tested Autony in AUM, BM3 (where Autony is not recognized as a midi FX but only as an instrument, weird...) and Cubasis, with no problem tweaking the knobs. But in NS2, it’s…
  • Yes, it’s super strange ! But here’s the thing which might help to understand what’s going on (at least I hope this will give you more information to help me understand!). In fact, the modulation wheel is working depending on the preset, so it confirms that the parameter named “ModWheel range” is NOT the modulation wheel…
  • @dendy @Will I just gave it another try because this thing was bothering me. I was sure I heard the modulation worked the first time I use Model D inside NS2. So I launched Model D and used a preset with the modulation already on (whichever this one was). And after I set the parameter called “ModWheel range” (the word…
  • Yes, you’re absolutely right. The thing is, I really got into (bedroom) music production with iOS (after 20 years of tries and abandons). I adopted BM2, its workflow suited me perfectly : midi on one side, and on the other, all the audio coming from my other apps loaded in the pads, to loop, tweak, resample and so on...…
  • Without getting into the details of the what is a bank in BM3 (check the summary of the manual), and to give you a general idea of what I mean by a loop, launcher, a bank in BM3 can behave like Launchpad, with live time stretching, slicing and chopping... I don’t expect Slate to offer the same functions that a bank in BM3,…
  • Yes, thanks ! I didn’t finish any definitive track so far, so I don’t know this “archive” function, but know I did. And as for the “not saving” Slate kits, NS2 behaves like BM3. As long as you don’t save your bank/kit, the app doesn’t create any extra audio files. And when you have finished your track, you save your…
  • Yes, it’s absolutely true. But in my case, the reason I need to store audio in the right place so I can delete it once my project is finished is because I import a lot of loops chosen only for the session I’m working on (they fit the tempo, the key) and I know I won’t use them again. It’s an habit I got with BM2, I used to…
  • @dendy Thank you for the explanation. I preferred to use the project folder so all the samples I import for the project I’m working on can be deleted once the project finished (or abandoned;-)). I already filled the library with a LOT of folder and samples meant to be used whichever the project is. I guess I will create a…
  • That’s what I thought.... thanks for the confirmation!
  • Yes I have, I made the test and it works. Buy the way, here are 2 screenshots I forgot to attach to my first post. It shows that the ModWheel of Model D is available in the list of parameters when you are in the macro menu.
  • @dendy I’m gonna check but I’m sure there are other synth apps in this case. So it might be a good thing to implement a Modulation Wheel in Obsidian...
  • @dendy What I don’t understand is that the Modulation Wheel is available in the parameters list and so can be affected to a macro knob, which I did. Like the lfo rate and some other parameters, they are not present on the UI but in the settings menu (except in standalone mode). But even when affected to a macro knob, it…
  • @dendy thank you for the explanation, I’ll test this tomorrow !
  • I’m glad you ask because I didn’t understand at all what you did and I was hesitating to ask you 🤭... so thank you !
  • Fantastic ! Thanks a lot ! (sorry I didn’t see it🤭)
  • Hi, It would be nice to be able to save macro affectation for AU instrument, independently of the instrument preset. Once you chose your dozen of parameters you want to control /automate, it’s a bit annoying to redo the process each time you change the preset. And happy new year to you all !
  • That’s harsh for AB... But even if it’s true, I think users are simply asking what’s best and it’s now obvious that AU has outdated AB (not to mention IAA). So I don’t think that users are still asking for AB compatibility, on the contrary...
  • Ok, that would have been my question as well ! 😉 But I understand the answer better, with the desktop / iOS conflict to resolve when you only have developed desktop applications so far. And to be fair, AU midi FX is really new, so let’s give him so time !
  • Weird answer... although I don’t really know what your question was. My question to him would be : can you update Riffer so it’s considered as a AU MIDI FX. I don’t know if it’s not officially supported but other developers do it perfectly with their app : StepPolyArp (and now QuantiChord), Rozeta, Physical Bouncy, Midi…
  • The only problem with Riffer is that it’s not a midi FX but an instrument, problem which certainly could be fixed by the developer. Aside from that, this app works perfectly on iOS and behaves like any other app of its kind.
  • I sent en email to AUDIOMODERN to ask them if they could update Riffer so it could be seen as a midi FX. I speak about this in another forum because at the exception of AUM and apeMatrix, what’s the point of having Riffer as an AU instrument ? Unless your host is capable of midi routing (which is not the case with NS2, nor…
  • Ok, thanks for the answer (it’s a pity though...)
