  • no worries man, this was actually for a specific case which I got round another way. I would prefer MIDI sync working on an iOS app though, so I'll keep trying to find a solution. Even if the iOS app is generating the clock and I sync other things to it. As a Reason user I am drawn to the modularity of it
  • thanks man, song position is essential in this case so I will have to look for an alternative :/ at least I know it’s not possible
  • Oh just to add, sadly the program changer app is completely standalone, so no possibility of integrating it with NS2
  • Thanks man. Well, hardware-wise it worked. The USB MIDI interface is able to send program change commands to the BOSS pedal. However, I can't get it to work in mfxConvert. I used a different app, just called "program changer" and as soon as I entered a patch number and pressed send, the BOSS changed patch. But when I do it…
  • Hmm, I was just able to get mfxConvert working. I created an external MIDI device in NS2, and added mfxConvert as a midi effect on that device. I created a simple remapping of C0 to C1 and D0 to D1, and when I used the keyboard on NS2 with the MIDI out connected to a hardware synth, those notes were indeed remapped. So I'm…
  • Thanks man. Complicating the setup isn't necessarily a problem. Do you know of any hardware which is capable of doing this? I tried searching but found loads of software but no hardware. The one time you want google to put products at the top of the search results :#
  • I’d love to know if this can be implemented too. I use a Boss VE-500 vocal effects processor alongside NS2 for live performance, and having program changes sequenced from NS2 would mean I could not only have the Boss change to the correct patch automatically for each song, but also that I could have it switch between…
  • No worries bud! I’m a Reason guy too and I love it. Echo is present in pretty much all of my racks and the ducking control is really handy. Though I tend to duck the whole effects chain which means I need to split the audio with Spider, duck and mix... well, you get it already ;)
  • Oh I didn’t notice that up there, thanks so much dude
  • Nice suggestions, maybe you already know this but you can do an audio send from one channel to another, put the delay on the receiving channel and turn down the dry mix on the delay, and sidechain it with the sending channel. That way you can get sidechaining of the delay. It's not as easy as having a ducking control but…
  • If you log in to the same Apple ID on each of them then you should be able to restore purchases to re-download the IAPs without having to repurchase them.
  • Thanks for the suggestion dude. Could you give a bit more detail about what you mean by loading NS into audiobus output slot? I don't really understand what this means. Thanks man!
  • Oh damn, ok thanks I’ll have to rethink in that case!
  • Oh will it not even midi sync at this point?
  • Oh damn, no start/stop sync? Hmm, I wonder if it can be done over MIDI over USB instead
  • Thanks man :)
  • I'll post some screenshots tomorrow, after my gig tonight. After spending most of the day re-exporting, re-mastering and re-importing my live tracks in 48kHz and finally getting my set sorted for tonight, I don't want to start changing anything to take screenshots ;)
  • Thanks dude, I appreciate you getting in touch with the developer. I don't think it's as simple as this, however. The song details in MTR do say 48k, but the sample is at 44 and it doesn't play it correctly. Only by re-exporting the sample at 48khz can I get it to play correctly in MTR.
  • The problem I am finding is that I cannot change the sample rate of the project as it uses the host sample rate.
  • I suspected as much. I develop iOS apps too so am frequently coming up against their bullshit :/ yeah I think Multitrack Recorder isn't converting on the fly between sample rates. It knows that the sample rate is wrong, because if you disable host sync and play the audio directly from Multitrack Recorder, it will warn you…
  • Thanks @dendy :)
  • @dendy Actually that's perfect, the stereo filter does what I need and as you say can be midi mapped. The explanation for why the EQ device cannot be automated this way is reasonable and was the best decision at the time I'm sure. Though it would be nice to be able to collapse it so as you suggest it only shows you the…
  • I've just bought this plugin and wanted to come back and say thanks for the pointer. It works really nicely with NS2. Loading the backing track into MultiTrack Recorder is straightforward once you know how, though it wasn't immediately apparent. This video was really helpful in that regard: https://youtu.be/tRKUkeROPms Now…
  • Woah, thanks dude. Actually even your Obsidian patch sounds more authentic than Troublemaker. I really wanted to like Troublemaker but the portmento is really weird, and the filter just isn’t up to the job of 303 emulation. I’ll switch over to your patch while I wait for this new plugin and give it a try. Thanks again man!
  • Oh nice. How does it sound? I’ve been using Troublemaker and wishing it was more squeaky and resonant.
  • Oh that's niiiiice. I didn't see that one. Though it's a bit overkill for what I needed, it certainly does look like a nice little controller.
  • The AKAI LPK25 is nice, but I found the Alesis V-Mini more useful as it has knobs and pads which can be mapped to parameters on Obsidian.
  • I would assume a standalone version would be easier than a VST, as I guess there is an API specific to VSTs which would have to be complied with. With a standalone piece of software you could do anything permitted by the host OS (and maybe some things that aren't). I would be fine with a standalone desktop version as long…
  • It feels inevitable at this point. It is the only thing holding it back from being classified as a DAW, and it has already been said that it will be an IAP. So the time invested in developing the feature will definitely pay off for the developers ;)
  • Thank you @dendy and @number37 :)
