Beginner’s Question About Recording With AUV
Hello! Just purchased NS2 about a week ago, and I have a question I should probably be able to figure out myself, but I’m pretty new to making music on iOS. With an app like Bleass Slow Machine (or any AUV where you manipulate sound), is there a a way to record the changes you’re making to a track in real time? As I’m recording, I hear the changes happening (pitch changes, start/stops, etc.), but when I playback it’s still the original track. I hope this is a clear question, and I appreciate any feedback or suggestions.

AU effect automation is not supported in NS. AU instrument automation is supported but you have to use the Performance controls in the NS AU instrument.
Appreciate the response. I think I understand...it will apply the changes to what I’m hearing, but it can’t then record those changes? They’re only there in playback? Apologize for the extremely basic Q, just trying to find my way.
No need to apologize for asking questions!
You can record the changes, but you have to first map the control you want to change to one of the eight Macro (Performance) Controls. You then move the macro controls, which move the controls in the app. The macro control movements are recorded and will play back the app sound changes.
Check the section labeled "Macro Controls" in the manual to get started mapping controls: https://www.blipinteractive.co.uk/nanostudio2/user-manual/AUInstrument.html
This section of the manual is helpful regarding automation recording:

Thanks, that is super helpful! I’ll start playing around with mapping for sure.
